Computational solid mechanics

I develop numerical methods for thin-walled structures — isogeometric and meshfree formulations for plates and shells made of advanced materials — and use them to study large deflection, buckling and postbuckling. A second line of work brings deep learning into the nonlinear solver itself and into structural engineering practice.
